Asia-Pacific is moving closer towards generations born free of HIV/Aids and Syphilis. Agencies working on prevention of parents-to child transmission (PPTCT) concluded that political commitment, interventions and advances in treatment and testing have contributed positively to this goal. They also offered recommendations moving forward including stepping up domestic investment and tapping technical expertise in health economics.
In the best interest of children, and to protect their privacy, UNICEF does not publish photographs of children who are HIV-positive or otherwise affected by HIV & AIDS, except in those cases where the child’s identity is protected or where the child and/or the parents/guardians have specifically authorized publication of the photograph.
